disABILITY Screening App to Support Children with Disability

ICPS is honoured to present this innovative and award-winning app developed by MJF Charitable Foundation and partners with the support of ICPS member CP Lanka Foundation. Organisations around the world can make use of this app to transform the way they serve children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The app provides organisations with a platform connecting children with special needs and their families to their specialised support services such as:

  • Disability screening
  • Developmental screening
  • Child reference to paediatrician diagnosis
  • Early identification and intervention
  • Multidisciplinary team support
  • Therapeutic, educational and rehabilitation services
  • Mobility aids support
  • Child progress monitoring follow-ups

The app was developed in response to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, when in-person consultations and therapy sessions were not possible. Its invaluable tele-therapy services will continue to benefit people with CP, their families and professionals long after the pandemic is over, especially in regions where it is difficult to reach in-person services.

The app provides an online platform for organisations to deliver services remotely but the services themselves remain under the full control and responsibility of the operating organisation. Personal data is not stored on the app but transferred to the operating organisation, so the privacy of users is guaranteed.

The app was developed in Sri Lanka by Millennium IT ESP in partnership with Dilmah’s MJF Charitable Foundation and the National Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Other Developmental Disorders (NCCCPDD). In July 2021 it was awarded the Inclusion Changemaker 2021 Microsoft Global Award.

The developers of the app are willing to share this technology with other bona fide organisations dedicated to children with CP and other disabilities around the world. For organisations in high-income countries, a contribution to the development costs of the app may be requested. For organisations in other parts of the world, it may be possible to provide the app for free.

The app is currently available in English and selected South Asian languages. It can be translated into any other language if the operating organisation provides the texts.

If you are interested in making use of this app for your organisation, please write to contact@cpint.org.
